Quality & Certification

Sandwich Panel Certification You Can Put in a Permit File

CE marking under EN 14509, an ISO 9001 certified quality management system and EN 13501-1 fire classification for every core material — with the documentation formatted for building authorities in five markets.

Quality

Specifying a sandwich panel means specifying its paperwork too. Before a facade or roof panel goes into a building-permit file, the specifier needs to know which harmonized standard it was made to, which accredited tests sit behind the declared values, and which documents will arrive with the delivery.

Real Panel holds ISO 9001 quality-management certification, CE marking for all products under EN 14509, and EN 13501-1 fire-classification test reports for every panel type. There is no export grade versus domestic grade — every panel is manufactured on the same line, tested to the same standards and certified with the same documentation.

Which standard covers what

Each standard governs a different part of the panel — the product itself, its fire behaviour, its thermal value, the steel it is rolled from, the chemistry inside it and the management system behind it.

EN 14509 compliance is verified through accredited testing and documented in the Declaration of Performance that accompanies every CE-marked panel. Every steel coil entering the factory carries EN 10346 and EN 10169 certification from the supplier. See how each standard is applied →

EN 13501-1

Reaction to fire, by panel type

Every panel type is tested to EN 13501-1 by accredited fire-testing laboratories. Euroclass ratings run from A1 to F, with smoke sub-classes s1–s3 and flaming-droplet sub-classes d0–d2.

Panel typeEuroclassSmokeDroplets
PUR panels (all types)Bs2d0
PIR panels (all types)Bs1d0
EPS panels (all types)E

Fibercement-faced panelsA2s1d0

Each classification is supported by a full report from an accredited laboratory. Fibercement panels are cement-board faced rather than foam- or mineral-cored; their classification is issued for the finished panel. Fire test reports support fire-safety approval in each market, including fire department approval in Türkiye. Open the test reports →

Documentation

The documents that travel with your panels

Some documents are standard with every shipment; others are issued per project on request. Both sets are available before you commit to an order.

Test certificates accompany every shipment
With every order
  • CE certificates
  • Declaration of Performance (DoP)
  • The relevant EN 13501-1 fire-classification reports
  • Batch test certificates for the delivered panels
On request
  • ISO 9001 certificate
  • Steel and coating certificates
  • Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS)
  • Project-specific documentation packages

Certificates are not conditional on purchasing. We provide them during specification and quotation so you can include them in building-permit applications before the order is confirmed. FAQ

Sandwich panel certification questions

The questions specifiers, contractors and importers ask before a panel goes into a permit file.

Is Real Panel CE certified?

Yes. Real Panel holds CE marking for all products under EN 14509, the harmonized European standard for self-supporting double-skin metal-faced insulating panels. A Declaration of Performance under CPR 305/2011 accompanies every CE-marked product, and CE certificates ship with every order.

What is EN 14509 and why does it matter for sandwich panels?

EN 14509 is the core product standard for self-supporting double-skin metal-faced insulating panels, published by CEN. It covers thermal performance, mechanical strength, fire reaction, dimensional tolerances and durability, and it is the harmonized standard behind CE marking. Without compliance with the EU Construction Products Regulation, panels cannot legally be placed on the EU market.

What is a Declaration of Performance (DoP) for a sandwich panel?

The Declaration of Performance is a legal document required under the EU Construction Products Regulation (CPR 305/2011). Each Real Panel product has a DoP declaring thermal conductivity per EN 12667, reaction to fire per EN 13501-1, compressive strength per EN 826, tensile and adhesion strength per EN 14509, water vapour permeability per EN 12086 and dimensional tolerances per EN 14509.

What is the fire rating of Real Panel sandwich panels?

Reaction to fire is classified to EN 13501-1 by accredited fire-testing laboratories. PUR panels are classified B-s2,d0; PIR panels B-s1,d0; EPS panels E; rockwool facade and roof panels A1/A2-s1,d0; and fibercement-faced panels A2-s1,d0.

What does Euroclass B-s2,d0 mean?

It is a reaction-to-fire classification under EN 13501-1. The letter is the main Euroclass, which runs from A1 to F; s is the smoke sub-class, from s1 to s3; and d is the flaming-droplet sub-class, from d0 to d2. B-s2,d0 therefore describes a class B reaction to fire with the s2 smoke sub-class and the d0 droplet sub-class.

Is Real Panel ISO 9001 certified?

Yes. Our quality policy is formalized in an ISO 9001 certified quality management system. Certification covers design, raw-material procurement, manufacturing, testing, packaging and delivery, and it is independently audited every year.

Are Turkish CE certificates valid in Romania and Bulgaria?

CE marking under EN 14509 is a European conformity marking rather than a national one: the same Declaration of Performance under CPR 305/2011 and the same EN 13501-1 fire-classification reports accompany the panels wherever they are shipped. We prepare the documentation package in the format the building authority in your destination market expects.

Which tests are run on sandwich panels before dispatch?

Before any panel is packaged for dispatch it is batch-tested against European standards: thickness and dimensional accuracy to EN 14509, peel and adhesion strength to EN 14509, foam density against the declared value to EN 14509, thermal conductivity against the declared lambda to EN 12667, and compressive strength to EN 826. Results are documented and archived, and test certificates accompany every shipment.

How do I get sandwich panel certificates for a building permit?

Certificates are not conditional on purchasing. We provide them during specification and quotation so you can include them in building-permit applications before the order is confirmed. Project-specific documentation packages are prepared on request through our quote form and delivered within one working day.

What is the difference between EN 14509 and EN 13501-1?

EN 14509 is the product standard for sandwich panels, covering thermal performance, mechanical strength, fire reaction, dimensional tolerances and durability, and it is the basis for CE marking. EN 13501-1 is the classification standard that translates SBI results under EN 13823 and small-flame results under EN ISO 11925-2 into the Euroclass system.
