Specifying a sandwich panel means specifying its paperwork too. Reaction to fire, by panel type
Every panel type is tested to EN 13501-1 by accredited fire-testing laboratories. Euroclass ratings run from A1 to F, with smoke sub-classes s1–s3 and flaming-droplet sub-classes d0–d2.

Each classification is supported by a full report from an accredited laboratory. Fibercement panels are cement-board faced rather than foam- or mineral-cored; their classification is issued for the finished panel. Is Real Panel CE certified?
Yes. Real Panel holds CE marking for all products under EN 14509, the harmonized European standard for self-supporting double-skin metal-faced insulating panels. A Declaration of Performance under CPR 305/2011 accompanies every CE-marked product, and CE certificates ship with every order.
What is EN 14509 and why does it matter for sandwich panels?
EN 14509 is the core product standard for self-supporting double-skin metal-faced insulating panels, published by CEN. It covers thermal performance, mechanical strength, fire reaction, dimensional tolerances and durability, and it is the harmonized standard behind CE marking. Without compliance with the EU Construction Products Regulation, panels cannot legally be placed on the EU market.
What is a Declaration of Performance (DoP) for a sandwich panel?
The Declaration of Performance is a legal document required under the EU Construction Products Regulation (CPR 305/2011). Each Real Panel product has a DoP declaring thermal conductivity per EN 12667, reaction to fire per EN 13501-1, compressive strength per EN 826, tensile and adhesion strength per EN 14509, water vapour permeability per EN 12086 and dimensional tolerances per EN 14509.
What is the fire rating of Real Panel sandwich panels?
Reaction to fire is classified to EN 13501-1 by accredited fire-testing laboratories. PUR panels are classified B-s2,d0; PIR panels B-s1,d0; EPS panels E; rockwool facade and roof panels A1/A2-s1,d0; and fibercement-faced panels A2-s1,d0.
What does Euroclass B-s2,d0 mean?
It is a reaction-to-fire classification under EN 13501-1. The letter is the main Euroclass, which runs from A1 to F; s is the smoke sub-class, from s1 to s3; and d is the flaming-droplet sub-class, from d0 to d2. B-s2,d0 therefore describes a class B reaction to fire with the s2 smoke sub-class and the d0 droplet sub-class.
Is Real Panel ISO 9001 certified?
Yes. Our quality policy is formalized in an ISO 9001 certified quality management system. Certification covers design, raw-material procurement, manufacturing, testing, packaging and delivery, and it is independently audited every year.
Are Turkish CE certificates valid in Romania and Bulgaria?
CE marking under EN 14509 is a European conformity marking rather than a national one: the same Declaration of Performance under CPR 305/2011 and the same EN 13501-1 fire-classification reports accompany the panels wherever they are shipped. We prepare the documentation package in the format the building authority in your destination market expects.
Which tests are run on sandwich panels before dispatch?
Before any panel is packaged for dispatch it is batch-tested against European standards: thickness and dimensional accuracy to EN 14509, peel and adhesion strength to EN 14509, foam density against the declared value to EN 14509, thermal conductivity against the declared lambda to EN 12667, and compressive strength to EN 826. Results are documented and archived, and test certificates accompany every shipment.

What is the difference between EN 14509 and EN 13501-1?
EN 14509 is the product standard for sandwich panels, covering thermal performance, mechanical strength, fire reaction, dimensional tolerances and durability, and it is the basis for CE marking. EN 13501-1 is the classification standard that translates SBI results under EN 13823 and small-flame results under EN ISO 11925-2 into the Euroclass system.
