Numbers you can build on — tested, not claimed.
Eight accredited tests stand behind every Real Panel datasheet value — thermal, fire, structural and dimensional. Here is what each one measures, and the results our panels achieve.
Why Test Reports Matter
Sandwich panel test reports serve three critical functions on a construction project. Under the EU Construction Products Regulation (CPR 305/2011), products on the European market must have their essential characteristics determined by harmonized test methods.
Building permits
Authorities require documented proof that cladding meets thermal, fire and structural codes. Test reports provide that evidence.
Engineering design
Engineers need verified load-bearing values to design purlin spacings and supports. Declared values without test backing create liability.
Insurance
Insurers assess fire risk on tested, classified performance — not marketing. Accredited reports are the basis for assessment.
All testing referenced here is performed according to harmonized European standards per EN 14509 requirements.
The 8 Key Performance Tests
Our test reports cover eight essential performance characteristics. For each: what it measures, why it matters, and the results Real Panel products achieve.
Measures The rate at which heat passes through the insulation core — lambda (λ) in W/mK. Lower lambda means better insulation.
Matters Lambda is the foundation of every U-value calculation. If tested lambda differs from the declared value, every thermal specification based on that panel is wrong.
Method A sample is held between two plates at different temperatures; heat flow is measured at steady state. The test needs temperature equilibrium — several hours per sample.
| Core material | Declared lambda | Test method |
|---|---|---|
| PUR | 0.022 W/mK | EN 12667 |
| PIR | 0.023 W/mK | EN 12667 |
| EPS | 0.035 W/mK | EN 12667 |
| Rockwool | 0.040 W/mK | EN 12667 |
Turn these lambda values into a panel thickness with our U-value calculator, or compare cores with the panel selector.
Measures How the panel reacts to fire — combustibility, smoke production and flaming droplets. Expressed as a Euroclass rating (A1–F) with smoke (s1–s3) and droplet (d0–d2) sub-classes.
Matters Fire class determines which building types a panel may be used on. Multi-storey, public and commercial buildings typically require B-s1 or A-class. Incorrect specification creates life-safety risk and non-compliance.
Method The Single Burning Item (SBI) test exposes a full-size panel corner to a controlled fire; heat release, smoke and flame spread are measured over 20 minutes. Separate small-flame testing confirms basic ignitability.
| Product | Euroclass | Smoke | Droplets | SBI + small flame |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| PUR panels | B | s2 | d0 | ✓ Tested |
| PIR panels | B | s1 | d0 | ✓ Tested |
| EPS panels | E | — | — | ✓ Tested |
| Rockwool panels | A1 / A2 | s1 | d0 | ✓ Tested |
| Fibercement | A2 | s1 | d0 | ✓ Tested |

Measures The load a panel can bear perpendicular to its faces before the core crushes — in kPa.
Matters Determines whether panels can support foot traffic during installation and maintenance, point loads from equipment mountings, and snow loads on roofs.
Measures The bond strength between the insulation core and the steel facings, tested by peeling the steel away from the core under controlled conditions.
Matters Poor adhesion lets a panel delaminate under wind suction or temperature cycling. The core-to-facing bond is what makes a sandwich panel a structural composite rather than three loose layers.
Measures The core's resistance to sliding failure when the panel is loaded in bending — it governs spanning capability between purlins.
Matters Engineers use shear data to calculate maximum purlin spacings and wind-load resistance. Under-specifying shear risks panel failure under extreme wind or snow events.
Measures The panel's resistance to bending under uniformly distributed loads — simulating wind pressure, snow load or self-weight across the span.
Matters Flexural data feeds directly into structural calculations for purlin spacing, span tables and load-bearing declarations.
Measures Accuracy of panel thickness, width, length and squareness against the declared nominal dimensions.
Matters Out-of-tolerance panels cause alignment problems, visible joint steps on facades, and air/water leakage at joints.
Measures The rate at which water vapor passes through the core — the water-vapor diffusion resistance factor (μ).
Matters In cold storage and high-humidity buildings, vapor permeability decides whether moisture can migrate into the core and condense, degrading insulation over time. PUR and PIR closed-cell cores have very high vapor resistance (μ > 30), ideal for moisture-critical applications.

Frequently Asked Questions
What test reports are available from Real Panel?
Reports for all eight key characteristics: thermal conductivity (EN 12667), fire classification (EN 13501-1), compressive strength (EN 826), adhesion (EN 14509), shear strength, flexural strength, dimensional tolerance, and water vapor permeability (EN 12086) — all from accredited testing laboratories.
Are test reports needed for building permits?
Yes, in most markets. Authorities require documented proof of thermal performance (energy-code compliance) and fire classification (fire-safety approval). Our reports are accepted across Türkiye, Romania, Bulgaria, Georgia, North Macedonia and Kosovo. See our certificates page for the complete documentation package.
How often are sandwich panels tested?
Our quality policy requires batch testing during production (thickness, density, adhesion) plus periodic type testing at accredited laboratories for fire classification and thermal conductivity — so the reports reflect ongoing manufacturing quality, not one-time results.
Can I use Real Panel test reports for structural calculations?
Yes. The compressive, shear and flexural reports provide the input values engineers need for purlin spacing, wind-load resistance and snow-load design. Our performance data includes pre-calculated span tables derived from these results.
How do I download specific test reports?
Standard reports are available from the download section above. For product- or project-specific reports, contact our technical team — we prepare and deliver within one working day.
Need reports for a permit or a structural calc?
